Design and Illustration

From print and digital graphic design, to illustration, infographics and graphic facilitation, I've used visuals in a wide variety of ways to communicate ideas and share stories. Here are some examples.

Infographics

 Lignin Labs

As part of a Genome BC funded project, various labs at UBC were researching DNA that breaks down lignin (ie. the hard stuff in wood). I helped sketch out how the labs worked individually and how that fit together in the larger context. These sketches were used to facilitate wider content projects.

AdapTree

Also a Genome BC funded project, the AdapTree team was working on assessing the role genes played in a trees adaptation to it's climate. This graphic summarizes their journey and outcomes. Click through!

Graphic Facilitation

Not all meetings have tangible bullet point outcomes. It's sometimes hard to grasp key insights from a strategic planning or ideation session, this is why graphic facilitation is such an effective tool. I'm a visual thinker, so when I sit in meetings and listen to discussions my brain maps the conversation in a visual way and that's what these drawings are.
